‘I WAS GLAD’ A Choral Concert

A Choral Concert given by chamber choir Voces Seraphorum with Eleonore Cockerham (soprano) and Tim Harper (piano & organ) Saturday 13th May 2023 at 7.30pm at St. James’s Church, Birstwith

Do come along to this special concert for which Voces Seraphorum is delighted to be joined by two wonderful musicians: Eleonore Cockerham (a locally born soprano who sang internationally with Voces 8 ) and Tim Harper (Assistant Director of Music at Ripon Cathedral).

The programme has some great music including music by Handel, Mozart, Charles Villiers Stanford (his sublime 'Bluebird'), Dyson (including a real rarity: his beautiful ‘Hierusalem’ for soprano and choir) and Gerald Finzi. As the title of the concert suggests, we will also be performing Hubert Parry’s magnificent coronation anthem ‘I was Glad’ - very apt for the period immediately following the King’s Coronation.  There will also be some choral gems by more contemporary composers such as Paul Mealor and Eric Whitacre and a selection of lighter arrangements.

So definitely something for all tastes!

Tickets are just £10 (students: £5)
