Eco Tip 18th August - Bug and Bee Hotels
We have pollinating bugs and bees to thank for every third mouthful we eat. Not only do they pollinate our food crops, but they’re also vital for the survival of other wild plants that support so much of our wildlife. How can we help them? One way is to build a bug and bee hotel. These can be as simple as a pile of twigs, dried leaves and pinecones pushed into a corner of the garden, or it such items can be placed into a bespoke ‘hotel’ which can also be decorative. Do you want to know how to make a bug and bee hotel yourself? Come to our free, family-friendly workshop on Saturday 24th August at Ripley Church from 2pm. Were hoping to create at least 5 bug hotels – one for each of our churchyards. Come along, have fun and learn to love your bugs!
