We are coming up to Hallowe'en and many people love to carve pumpkins for display. In addition to (or instead of) a scary face why not adda cross to remind yourselves that the light of Christ is brightest in the darkest times?
Rather than throw away the insides of the pumpkin, why not use it to make some delicious soup? You'll find lots of recipes online or in your cookery books. 'Carving pumpkins' are bred to be bigger and the flavour of the flesh can be less than smaller ones, but careful cooking with flavoursome additions (onions, garlic, carrots etc) will still make a beautiful soup.
